Like people, pets contribute significantly to the family dynamic. Whether they have four legs, two legs, or even three, all pets hold a special place within a family.

These loyal companions support us through various phases of our lives—day by day, week by week, and year by year. They are selfless constants in our lives, encouraging us to be active when we might otherwise want to stay still, and they’re intuitively present when we need them most.

For children, pets provide vital support during challenging times—a gentle nudge, a comforting cuddle, or simply the warm presence of a best friend at the end of a long day.

When I meet children in mediation who have pets as part of their family, we always enjoy sharing pictures and stories of our adventures with them.

For those who know me, my animals are a reflection of who I am…I say this with a slight chuckle because I’ve always had the most spirited, yet not necessarily well-behaved, pets—all of whom are rescues! During our walks, the pets have their own social network, and I often embarrassingly remember their names before knowing their owners. After all, the pets are characters in their own right.

Pets are an integral part of the family structure and will always be included in my mediation sessions.
